Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov presented intelligence on military cooperation between Russia and North Korea during a meeting in Seoul with South Korean President Yun Seok-yeol. The parties discussed joint actions in response to new security threats.

This was reported by Yonhap.

The South Korean leader emphasized his readiness to cooperate with Ukraine and coordinate efforts with the United States to respond to the challenges posed by growing military ties between Moscow and Pyongyang.

Ukraine and South Korea agreed to continue exchanging information on the deployment of DPRK troops in Russia and the transfer of weapons and resources in response to Pyongyang’s military assistance to Moscow.

The Ukrainian delegation also held talks with National Security Advisor to the President of South Korea Shin Won-shik and Defense Minister Kim Yong-hyun. During the meetings, they discussed cooperation and provided additional intelligence on the participation of the North Korean military in the war on the side of Russia.

Earlier, President Yun Sook-yol said that the decision to transfer weapons to Ukraine would depend on the degree of military cooperation between Pyongyang and Moscow. It is not yet known whether this issue was discussed during Umerov’s visit.
