Two countries – Germany and Norway – have committed to purchase and transfer Patriot systems to Ukraine. As of early July, agreements have been reached with both countries.
This was announced by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy at a press conference in Rome.
“Germany is ready to pay, I have agreements with them – two systems. Norway is ready to pay, I have bilateral agreements with the Prime Minister – one system,” Zelenskyy said.
According to the president, other European partners will be able to join after Ukraine receives a clear answer from the United States and the manufacturer regarding the timing.
“This is the current scheme for financing American systems. Of course, we understand the price. It is our task to find this money. We already understand where the funding will come from. I am confident that we will do it all,” Zelenskyy said.
Earlier it was reported that US President Donald Trump promised to urgently transfer 10 interceptor missiles for the Patriot missile defense system to Ukraine amid intensified Russian attacks.
