Ukraine’s Defence Forces struck a number of Russian military and war-economy targets on July 11 and overnight into July 12. The targets included the Syzran oil refinery, 10 tankers, four ferries and a train carrying fuel and lubricants.

The extent of the damage and the final results of the strike are still being assessed.

According to the General Staff, the Syzran refinery is one of the largest oil-processing facilities in the Samara region. Its design capacity is about 8.5 million tonnes of crude oil per year.

The plant produces petrol, diesel fuel, aviation fuel and other petroleum products used, among other purposes, to supply the Russian military.

Ukrainian forces also struck 10 Russian tankers and four ferries in the Sea of Azov.

The General Staff said the tankers were used to transport Russian oil and petroleum products in circumvention of international sanctions. The ferries supported military logistics and transported cargo for the Russian armed forces.

In addition, Ukrainian forces struck an enemy train carrying fuel and lubricants near the temporarily occupied city of Tokmak in Zaporizhzhia region on July 11. A locomotive was confirmed damaged.

The General Staff also provided an update on the July 10 strike against the NOVATEK-Ust-Luga oil-processing complex in Russia’s Leningrad region. Damage to an oil-processing unit at the facility was confirmed.

The Ukrainian military said it would continue systematic operations aimed at reducing Russia’s military and economic potential.
