Ukraine’s Defence Forces have struck one of Russia’s largest chemical enterprises, Nevinnomysskiy Azot, which produces key components for explosive materials. A separate strike on a Russian troop concentration near Dokuchaievsk has also been confirmed.

Ukraine’s Defence Forces carried out a strike overnight on 4 December against Nevinnomysskiy Azot in the Stavropol region — one of the largest chemical enterprises within Russia’s military-industrial complex, according to a report from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The plant produces more than 1 million tonnes of ammonia and up to 1.4 million tonnes of ammonium nitrate annually, making it a critical supplier of basic components for explosives and ammunition. It continuously supports several Russian defence manufacturers and serves as a chemical hub in the logistical system of Russia’s military operations.

According to the General Staff, one of the plant’s production workshops was hit, and a fire was recorded at the site.

The General Staff also confirmed the results of a separate strike on a concentration of Russian troops at a training ground near Dokuchaievsk in the temporarily occupied part of Donetsk region. Russian losses amounted to 60 personnel killed and wounded.

Ukraine’s Defence Forces emphasised that they will continue taking all necessary measures to undermine the military and economic potential of the Russian occupiers and force Russia to end its armed aggression against Ukraine.
