Today, July 8, Russian troops attacked Kyiv with drones in several waves. The Desnianskyi district was under attack — a high-rise building was damaged, and a fire broke out in a three-story non-residential building near a market in Troieshchyna. Three people are already known to have been killed and 13 injured.

This was reported by Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko and head of the Kyiv City Military Administration Tymur Tkachenko.

After the air raid alert was announced at 16:50, explosions rang out in the capital.

“In the Desnianskyi district, according to preliminary information, a UAV hit a 25-story residential building at the level of the 16th floor. Emergency services are heading to the scene”, Klitschko wrote.

Later, the mayor reported that a fire had broken out on the upper floor of the high-rise building that was hit by a Russian UAV.

“In the high-rise building in the Desnianskyi district where the enemy UAV hit, a fire broke out on the upper floor. Reconnaissance in the building is ongoing”, Klitschko said.

Rescuers evacuated an injured child from the building, who suffered cut wounds to the face, and handed the child over to medics.

Also in the Desnianskyi district, a Russian UAV fell on a three-story non-residential building next to a market. In Troieshchyna, rescuers extinguished a fire in a building that broke out as a result of the shelling. A Russian UAV also fell and exploded near a gas distribution station.

“There are already 13 injured in the capital. Medics hospitalized nine of them. Two of the wounded are in serious condition. Three people were killed”, Klitschko wrote.
