Ukraine’s Defence Forces struck the Ryazan oil refinery and the Alchevsk metallurgical plant overnight on 6 December.

Over the night of 6 December 2025, units of Ukraine’s Defence Forces carried out strikes on two major military-industrial facilities of the Russian Federation, according to the General Staff.

The strike in Russia’s Ryazan region targeted infrastructure at the Ryazan Oil Refinery, one of the country’s largest, with an annual capacity of 17.1 million tonnes. The plant produces petrol A-92/95/98/100, jet fuel, diesel and other products used to supply the Russian military.

A confirmed hit damaged a low-temperature isomerisation unit. The extent of the damage is being assessed.

Additionally, to reduce the enemy’s offensive capabilities, Ukrainian forces struck the Alchevsk Metallurgical Plant on the temporarily occupied territory of Luhansk region. The facility manufactures shell casings for the Russian defence ministry.

A direct hit and subsequent fire were confirmed at the site. Damage assessments are ongoing.

The General Staff emphasised that Ukraine’s Defence Forces will continue targeting Russia’s military-industrial infrastructure to disrupt supply of fuel and ammunition to occupying forces and compel the Russian Federation to end its aggression against Ukraine.
