Kyiv’s Paton Bridge is operating in both directions, but access from the right bank to the left bank is currently possible only from Mykola Mikhnovskyi Boulevard. Entry to the bridge from other directions remains closed.
This was reported by Interfax-Ukraine, citing Kyiv City Military Administration spokesperson Kateryna Pop.
According to the agency’s correspondent, traffic is moving across the Paton Bridge, although congestion has formed on the approaches.
Pop also reported on the consequences of Russian strikes on the capital’s bridge infrastructure. Specialists are currently assessing the damage.
According to her, several strikes damaged a bridge support, a crash barrier, the roadway and the protective concrete structure of the metro.
Information on the condition of the bridges and the further organization of traffic will be discussed at an emergency meeting of the Kyiv Defense Council on Friday, October 2, in the afternoon.
The council is expected to make decisions on new security challenges and the resumption of traffic across the capital’s bridges.
According to Pop, it will then become clear how traffic across Kyiv’s bridges will be organized over the coming week.
