        Ukraine strikes Russian shadow fleet tanker and several military targets, General Staff says

        Units of Ukraine’s Defense Forces carried out strikes on a number of Russian military and logistics facilities on June 16 and during the night of June 17.

        The information was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

        Among the targets hit was the shadow fleet tanker FINA A (IMO 9283306) in the Black Sea. The vessel is under sanctions imposed by the European Union, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, Canada and Ukraine.

        The General Staff said the strike on the tanker had been confirmed, while the extent of the damage is still being assessed. According to the military, the vessel was used to transport oil and petroleum products on behalf of Russia while circumventing international sanctions and restrictions. The tanker is 244.6 meters long and has a gross tonnage of 62,002.

        Ukrainian forces also struck facilities used by Russian troops to support military logistics and move personnel and equipment between occupied territories in southern Ukraine. The targets included a road bridge over the North Crimean Canal near the village of Stavky in Kherson region and another road bridge near Voinka.

        In the area of Velyka Novosilka in Donetsk region, Ukrainian forces hit a command and observation post as well as an enemy command center.

        According to the General Staff, strikes were also carried out against drone control centers used by Russian forces in the areas of Kamianske and Novoprokopivka in Zaporizhzhia region, Ivanopillia and Komar in Donetsk region, Oleshky in Kherson region, Maliivka in Dnipropetrovsk region, as well as Korovyakivka and Kucherov in Russia’s Kursk region.
