Ukraine has completed repairs on a damaged section of the Druzhba oil pipeline following a Russian strike. According to the president, the pipeline is now ready to resume operations.
This was stated by Volodymyr Zelenskyy while commenting on energy cooperation with partners. According to him, Ukraine has completed repair work on the section of the Druzhba oil pipeline that was damaged by a Russian strike.
The president noted that the pipeline can now resume operations, as specialists have ensured the basic conditions needed to restore the system and equipment. At the same time, he stressed that there are no guarantees against further attacks on the infrastructure.
Zelenskyy said Ukraine links the restoration of Druzhba’s operation to the unblocking of a European support package that has already been approved by the European Council.
He also noted that the necessary fuel supply volumes for April and May have been secured. In addition, a meeting in the “energy Ramstein” format is being prepared for this week to accelerate funding for restoration and protection of energy infrastructure.
Zelenskyy also emphasized the need to strengthen sanctions pressure on Russia and continue diversifying energy supplies to Europe.
