Ukrainian drone manufacturer Frontline Robotics and German defence company Quantum Systems will begin production of combat drones on behalf of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defence. This was announced by Matthias Lena, Director of Business Development at Quantum Systems, at the Economic Forum in Berlin on Monday, 15 December. According to him, the plan is to produce tens of thousands of drones per year, with the total value of the contracts estimated at hundreds of millions of euros.

The plan is to produce the battle-tested Lensa logistics drone, the Zoom reconnaissance drone, and the Burya remote-controlled fire module equipped with a machine gun and grenade launcher.

A press release from Quantum Systems states that a joint venture called Quantum Frontline Industries will be set up for production, which will open ‘Europe’s first fully automated industrial line for the production of unmanned aerial vehicles for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.’
