Syrskyi summed up the results of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in 2024

Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi held a meeting on the results of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in 2024. He announced this on his Facebook page.

The meeting discussed key aspects of warfare, the work of the Air Force and Air Defence, electronic warfare, unmanned systems, military training, logistics and mobilisation. Attention was also paid to combating offences in the Armed Forces.

Syrskyi emphasised that 2024 was a difficult year, but Ukraine has survived and continues to fight:

  • It maintains control over strategically important sections of the frontline and the western part of the Black Sea.
  • Reducing Russia’s military and industrial potential, in particular through DeepStrike.

According to Syrsky, the total enemy losses in 2024 exceeded 421,000 people killed and wounded. These are the highest losses of the Russian Federation since the invasion. At the same time, the total losses of the Russian army since the beginning of the war amount to about 785,000 soldiers.

One of the achievements of 2024 was the creation of the Unmanned Systems Forces within the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The supply of drones to Ukrainian units increased 19-fold compared to last year, and the number of enemy targets hit increased 3.7-fold.

The timeframe for basic training of mobilised soldiers was also extended to ensure better training and save soldiers’ lives.

Following the meeting, priorities for 2025 were identified, existing problems and ways to solve them were outlined. The Commander thanked the Ukrainian military for their resilience and heroism in extremely difficult conditions.
