On October 29, Russian troops attacked a children’s hospital in Kherson. As a result of the artillery strike, nine people were injured, including four children and three medical workers, according to the Kherson Regional Prosecutor’s Office.

The shelling occurred around 9:20 a.m. in the Dnipro district of the city. At the time of the attack, the hospital was occupied by young patients, their parents, and staff. The building sustained significant damage, and the blast wave also damaged nearby structures.
According to the head of the Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Prokudin, among the wounded is a 9-year-old girl who suffered a blast injury and shrapnel wounds to her leg, as well as three hospital employees who received injuries of varying severity. All the victims are receiving necessary medical treatment.
The Prosecutor’s Office has launched a pre-trial investigation into a war crime — violation of the laws and customs of war (Part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). Prosecutors and investigators are working at the site to document the aftermath of the strike and collect evidence of another war crime committed by the Russian Federation.
Officials emphasized that attacks on civilian facilities, including healthcare institutions, constitute a gross violation of international humanitarian law.
