        Russia launches 28 missiles and 115 drones at Ukraine: air defenses down 98 UAVs

        On the night of August 5, Russia attacked Ukraine with 24 ballistic missiles, four anti-ship missiles and 115 drones. Air defense forces neutralized 98 Russian UAVs. The Kyiv region was the main target of the attack.

        This was reported by the Ukrainian Air Force.

        Starting at 6:00 p.m. on August 4, Russia attacked Ukraine with four Zircon/Onyx anti-ship missiles launched from the Kursk and Rostov regions, 24 Iskander-M/S-400 ballistic missiles launched from the Bryansk and Kursk regions, as well as 115 Shahed attack drones, most of them jet-powered, Gerbera and Italmas UAVs, and Parodiya decoy drones launched from the directions of Kursk, Millerovo, Oryol, the temporarily occupied city of Donetsk, and Hvardiiske in the temporarily occupied Autonomous Republic of Crimea.

        As of 8:30 a.m., air defense forces had shot down or suppressed 98 Russian drones in the north, south and east of the country.

        Missile and 17 attack-drone strikes were recorded at 26 locations, while debris fell at six locations.
