Ukrainian troops have carried out a second operation to deliver humanitarian aid to the temporarily occupied city of Oleshky in the Kherson region. Using drones, they delivered nearly 4 tonnes of food, medicines and children’s kits to residents.
This was reported by Ukraine’s Interior Minister Ivan Vyhivskyi.
The overnight operation was carried out by servicemen of the 11th Mykhailo Hrushevskyi Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine and the 34th Kherson Regiment of the National Guard.
The 30th Marine Corps, the 34th Separate Marine Brigade “Borysfen” and the 79th Border Guard Detachment of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine were also involved in the delivery.
In total, nearly 400 parcels were delivered to Oleshky by drones. According to Vyhivskyi, all of them successfully reached their destination.
The cargo included food, medicines and children’s kits.
The minister separately praised the crew of the “Perun” UAV. During the operation, the drone not only delivered food but also helped evacuate six animals from the occupied territory.
Vyhivskyi thanked the servicemen who provided delivery, cover, engineering support and logistics, as well as communities, educational institutions, charities and volunteers who collected the humanitarian aid.
According to him, Ukrainian units continue to deliver aid to residents of occupied Oleshky, who remain without sufficient access to food, water and medicines.
