Residents of Dagestan, Ingushetia, and Chechnya have complained of problems with access to foreign websites, according to Russian media.

Residents of these regions are reportedly unable to access resources “in any way related to foreign content,” even with the use of VPNs. There were problems with access to Telegram, YouTube and Google.

“Radio Svoboda, citing sources in Dagestan, reported interruptions in the operation of WhatsApp and Telegram messengers.

One of the largest providers in Dagestan, Ellco, reported that the access restrictions observed since 4 p.m. are related to exercises conducted by Roskomnadzor “to practice scenarios for shutting down access to the foreign segment of the Internet.”
