Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, in his address on September 26, made several key statements regarding the frontline situation and the country’s security.
The head of state stressed that Russian President Vladimir Putin misleads even those leaders who still maintain dialogue with him. “Putin lies to leaders when he says that the occupation contingent is achieving some of its goals. For years they have been inventing new reasons why deadlines are constantly being postponed,” Zelensky noted.
He also reported on incidents at the border with Hungary. According to him, Ukrainian troops detected reconnaissance drones. “I instructed the military to conduct a full inspection and next time, if such drones appear again, to respond accordingly — to defend our state,” the president stated.
Zelensky emphasized the importance of strengthening Ukraine’s army through contract soldiers. “In particular, regarding contracts in our army — I instructed to increase the contract component,” he said.
In his address, the president thanked the troops holding back Russian attacks near Dobropillia, Pokrovsk, and Kupiansk, and reiterated the importance of maintaining sanctions pressure on Russia.
