The death toll from the Russian strike on Kyiv on May 14 has risen to 12 people, including two children. Search and rescue operations in the Darnytskyi district are ongoing. Psychologists, State Emergency Service canine units, 170 rescuers, and 51 pieces of equipment are working at the site.

This was reported by the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.

As Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated in an evening video address, Russia likely used a recently manufactured X-101 missile for the strike on a residential building in Kyiv on May 14. Experts are currently determining exactly which missiles and drones the Russians used for this attack.

“According to preliminary data, a Kh-101 missile struck a building in Kyiv. It was manufactured in the second quarter of this year. This means that Russia is still importing the components, resources, and equipment needed to produce missiles, circumventing global sanctions,” the statement reads.

Zelenskyy emphasized that putting an end to Russia’s schemes to circumvent sanctions must become one of the key goals of Ukraine’s partners.

“We are preparing steps that can intensify our joint response: sanctions must be more painful for Russia,” Zelenskyy stated.
