President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has confirmed strikes on important logistics facilities in Russia’s Krasnodar and Stavropol regions. According to him, the centres supplied the Russian military with drone components, navigation equipment and other gear.
The president said Ukrainian Defence Forces had also struck an oil depot, a tanker and four bulk carriers belonging to Russia’s shadow fleet in the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov.
“Today, Ukraine’s long-range sanctions successfully hit important targets in the Krasnodar and Stavropol regions — logistics centres involved in supplying the Russian army with drone components, navigation equipment and gear, as well as another oil depot,” Zelenskyy said.
The president thanked Ukrainian service members for the operations and stressed that the strikes were intended to force Russia to turn to diplomacy.
“We are quite rightly bringing the war back home — to Russia. Peace is needed, and Ukraine has presented the Russian side with all its proposals. They must be forced to move towards diplomacy,” he said.
Fires at Wildberries warehouses
Overnight on July 22, fires broke out at logistics complexes operated by Wildberries, Russia’s largest online marketplace, in Krasnodar and Nevinnomyssk in the Stavropol region. The company confirmed attacks on both facilities and the evacuation of staff. Russian authorities reported injuries and major fires at the warehouse complexes.
Zelenskyy’s statement suggests that these facilities may have been the logistics centres used to supply the Russian military, although the president did not directly name Wildberries.
A large column of smoke rose over the warehouse complex in Krasnodar after the attack. Russian authorities deployed more than 100 personnel and a firefighting helicopter. An evacuation was also carried out after the facility in Nevinnomyssk caught fire.
Previous strikes on logistics centres
Four days earlier, on July 18, drones attacked major Wildberries facilities in Kotovsk in Russia’s Tambov region and Elektrostal near Moscow. Fires broke out at both sites, disrupting their operations.
Zelenskyy said at the time that the targeted logistics facilities had been used to supply sanctioned components for the production of Russian drones and navigation equipment.
The Kremlin acknowledged that Wildberries and businesses operating through the marketplace had suffered losses in the earlier attacks, but denied that the warehouse complexes were used to support the Russian military.
Ukraine has also been systematically targeting Russian maritime logistics. On July 16, the General Staff reported strikes on six tankers and two tugboats in the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov that were used to transport fuel, military cargo and other resources.
