During the night of October 29, explosions were reported in several regions of the Russian Federation — local residents said that drones had attacked industrial facilities, including oil refineries and energy infrastructure. This was reported by the Telegram channels ASTRA and Krymskiy Veter (Crimean Wind).

According to ASTRA, in the city of Budyonnovsk in the Stavropol region, the Stavrolen petrochemical plant — part of the Lukoil group and one of Russia’s largest producers of polyethylene and polypropylene — came under attack. Eyewitnesses reported explosions and a fire at the facility, with the moment of impact captured on video. The regional governor acknowledged the attack, stating that “there were no significant damages and no casualties.”

In the Novospassky district of the Ulyanovsk region, drones struck the NS-Oil refinery. Local authorities confirmed that a “drone attack had been repelled,” but according to ASTRA, the fire may have affected parts of the facility, which has an annual refining capacity of up to 30,000 tons of oil.

In addition, the Supernova+ and ASTRA channels reported explosions in the Republic of Mari El, where the Mari oil refinery near the settlement of Tabashino may have been hit. Local sources said the refinery is located near the main Surgut–Polotsk oil pipeline and is capable of processing over 1.6 million tons of oil per year.

The Krymskiy Veter channel also reported that attacks took place on the occupied Crimean Peninsula. In the village of Hvardiyske, a fire broke out at the ATAN oil depot, which had already been targeted on October 17. There were also reports of a fire at the Simferopol Thermal Power Plant in the Hresivskyi district.

The Russian Ministry of Defense stated that “100 Ukrainian drones were shot down overnight” across 13 regions of the country, including the Bryansk, Kaluga, Belgorod, Krasnodar, Moscow, Oryol, Ulyanovsk, and Stavropol regions, as well as in Crimea and the Republic of Mari El.

According to ASTRA, published videos show powerful explosions and flashes in industrial areas, and OSINT analysis confirms that the strikes hit the Stavrolen and NS-Oil facilities.

There has been no official confirmation from the Russian side regarding the extent of the damage.
