On April 29, pilots from the Unmanned Systems Forces struck two Russian Mi-28 and Mi-17 helicopters inside Russian territory. The strike targeted a field airstrip located more than 150 kilometers from the front line.
This was reported by the commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces, Robert “Magyar” Brovdi.
Ukrainian drones attacked a field airstrip in the Voronezh region of the Russian Federation, where four Russian Mi-28 and Mi-17 helicopters were stationed.
At this airstrip, Russian military personnel were conducting refueling operations and pre-flight technical inspections of the aircraft.
The strike against the Russian equipment was carried out by pilots from combined crews of the 429th Separate “Achilles” Unmanned Systems Brigade and the 43rd Separate Artillery Brigade in a joint operation with Special Operations Center “A.”
The drones attacked the rear central section of the helicopters’ engine compartments, avoiding the main rotor blades.
As a result of the attack, two helicopters—an Mi-28 and an Mi-17—were damaged. Additionally, according to preliminary data, at least one maintenance specialist was killed.
