Russian forces significantly intensified their activity on the Kostyantynivka axis in April. Since the beginning of the week, the enemy has carried out dozens of attacks, attempting to gain a foothold on the outskirts of the city.

Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi reported that he worked in the area of responsibility of the 11th and 19th Army Corps, which are defending the Sloviansk-Kramatorsk and Kostyantynivka-Druzhkivka agglomerations.

According to him, the activity of Russian occupation forces in this sector has noticeably increased in April. The enemy is attempting offensive actions in small infantry groups under the cover of artillery and drones.

Since the beginning of the week, the enemy has carried out 83 attacks on the Kostyantynivka axis.

Ukrainian Defense Forces are repelling constant attempts by Russian troops to infiltrate and establish positions on the outskirts of Kostyantynivka. Counter-sabotage operations are ongoing in the city, with Ukrainian forces conducting measures to detect and eliminate the enemy.

During a working visit, Syrskyi held meetings with the command staff of army corps units, the 10th Separate Mountain Assault Brigade “Edelweiss,” and the 81st Separate Airmobile Slobozhanska Brigade of the Air Assault Forces.

The parties discussed the current situation, logistical support, coordination between units, and commanders’ proposals for countering enemy infantry groups.

Particular attention was paid to effective countermeasures against enemy drones, fortification and defensive line construction, as well as supplying units with ammunition and other logistical resources.

A number of operational decisions were made on site to improve supply for Ukrainian defenders.

The Commander-in-Chief thanked Ukrainian soldiers for carrying out combat missions, as well as for their courage and dedication.
