Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi has signed an order introducing mandatory rotation for troops on the frontline. The decision was made due to changes in the nature of warfare and the growing threat from drones.
He announced this on social media. According to him, the dominance of drones on the battlefield is changing the logic of warfare, particularly complicating logistics and movement both on the frontline and in the rear.
To preserve the lives and health of service members, an order was signed mandating the rotation of troops performing tasks on the line of contact.
Under the document, commanders must ensure that soldiers remain in positions for no more than two months, after which they must be replaced. The rotation must take place within no more than one month.
The order also requires mandatory medical examinations and rest periods for troops after completing combat missions.
It further stipulates timely provision of ammunition and food supplies to units engaged in combat tasks.
Compliance with the order will be strictly monitored. Violations will result in accountability under current legislation and military statutes.
Syrskyi stressed that timely rotation is not only an organizational matter but also a key factor in preserving soldiers’ lives and maintaining defense resilience.
The order is mandatory for all units operating on the frontline.
