Marta Kostyuk has reached the final of the WTA 1000 tournament in Madrid. In the semi-final, the Ukrainian tennis player defeated Anastasia Potapova.
This was reported by Suspilne Sport. In the semi-final, Kostyuk beat Austria’s Anastasia Potapova 2–1 (6:2, 1:6, 6:1).
Kostyuk won the first set 6:2, going on a 3:0 run and converting her fourth set point. She lost the second set 1:6, but regained control in the third, taking a 4:0 lead and closing out the match.
This is Kostyuk’s second consecutive WTA final. She previously won the tournament in Rouen, defeating Veronika Podrez, extending her winning streak to 10 matches.
In the final in Madrid, Kostyuk will face neutral player Mirra Andreeva.
