Coster-Waldau has served as a Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) since 2016. In that role, he has supported initiatives focused on climate change and gender equality.

Since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion, the actor has also participated in numerous events supporting Ukraine in Denmark.

In a March interview with Euronews, Coster-Waldau stressed the importance of the United Nations as a forum for diplomacy while acknowledging the need for reform.

Coster-Waldau has not posted about his visit to Kyiv on social media.
