An agreed ceasefire in Oleshky has been in effect for 54 hours, with no violations reported. Demining of routes for a humanitarian mission is currently underway, while aid for residents of the city is expected to be delivered tomorrow.
This was reported by Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights Dmytro Lubinets.
According to him, the ceasefire began at 3:00 a.m. Kyiv time on October 27. Both sides are fully complying with the agreed arrangements.
“Demining of the routes necessary for the humanitarian mission is currently underway. At the same time, we are already preparing a humanitarian shipment that we plan to deliver to Oleshky tomorrow,” Lubinets said.
The ombudsman noted that implementation of the agreements is being coordinated through continuous communication with Russia’s human rights commissioner Yana Lantratova.
Lubinets also thanked U.S. First Lady Melania Trump for her attention to the humanitarian mission and assistance to civilians in Oleshky.
According to him, the mission’s main objective is to deliver humanitarian aid to people who remain in the city and to provide civilians with an opportunity to evacuate safely.
