The United Kingdom has decided to provide Ukraine with an additional £10 billion in financial support. Of this amount, £7 billion will go toward economic assistance over three years, while another £3 billion will be allocated to UK export support, primarily for weapons supplies.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced the decision following a conversation with British Prime Minister Andy Burnham.
The new aid package will supplement the annual assistance London already provides to Kyiv.
“Today, Britain has made a strong decision on additional financial support totaling £10 billion: £7 billion in economic assistance over the next three years and another £3 billion in British export support, primarily for the supply of essential weapons that will strengthen our ability to protect lives,” Zelenskyy said.
The president stressed that the decision was particularly important amid Russia’s aggression, as it demonstrated to Moscow that Ukraine would not be left alone to face the challenges of the war.
“Every step to strengthen Ukraine brings Russia closer to realizing that it must end this war it started,” he emphasized.
Zelenskyy and Burnham also discussed sanctions policy toward Russia. The Ukrainian president expressed confidence that the United Kingdom would continue to maintain a principled position on the issue.
Zelenskyy thanked the British government, the prime minister and his team for their consistent support of Ukraine.
