Ukrainian troops have killed more than 100 Russian soldiers and taken more than 30 prisoner. Their underground advance has exceeded 15 kilometres.

Zelenskyy said Russian forces had previously attempted to use underground gas pipelines to move through Ukrainian positions and launch assaults.

“Ukrainian warriors have successfully adapted this tactic, modernised it and made it far more sophisticated and technologically advanced. We are protecting the lives of our people, inflicting losses on the occupiers and achieving our objectives in the Kupiansk sector,” Zelenskyy wrote.
