Russian forces attacked civilian targets and infrastructure in Ukraine overnight. According to Volodymyr Zelenskyy, stronger pressure on Russia is needed to counter the aggression.
This was stated by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy. He said that in Odesa five people were injured as a result of the attack, and fires broke out in two apartment buildings.
In Kryvyi Rih, one person was injured in a drone strike. In the Kharkiv region, Russian forces attacked railway infrastructure, including traction substations, causing damage and a fire in train cars. As a result of the strikes, thousands of families were left without electricity.
Strikes were also recorded in the Sumy and Zaporizhzhia regions. According to Zelenskyy, Russia used 210 attack drones overnight, about 140 of them being Shahed-type drones.
The president stressed that such daily attacks demonstrate the need to increase pressure on Russia, particularly through sanctions. He noted that synchronizing sanctions with partners and continuing them should limit Russia’s ability to prolong the war and force it to move toward diplomacy.
