As of 16:00 on 6 April, Ukrainian defenders are actively defending the entire frontline, despite attempts by Russian troops to break through Ukrainian positions. This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Since the beginning of the day, 75 combat engagements have been recorded. The most intense fighting continues in the Pokrovsk, Lyman, Toretsk and Kursk sectors. In particular, the enemy made 29 attacks in the Pokrovsk sector, 21 of which have already been repelled. In the Liman sector, Ukrainian troops are holding back the offensive in five points, while three firefights continue in the Toretsk sector after seven attacks were repelled.
There are also reports of enemy artillery and air strikes on the border areas of Sumy and Kharkiv regions, including the use of guided aerial bombs.
In the Kupyansk direction, fighting continues near Pishchane, and in the Orikhiv and Hulyaypillia directions, the enemy was defeated in several assault attempts. The invaders also carried out air strikes on a number of localities, including Pokrovsk, Berestka, Orikhove and Kamianske.
No active offensive actions by Russian troops were recorded on the Siversk, Kramatorsk and Prydniprovskyi directions.
