The Ukrainian Air Force has released a video showing a French Mirage 2000 fighter jet in action during a combat sortie. In the video, pilots talk about their impressions of the aircraft and demonstrate the launch of a Magic 2 missile.

The video was posted on the Facebook page of the Ukrainian Air Force Command.

One of the pilots, who previously flew combat missions on a Su-27, said that before switching to the Mirage 2000, he underwent training in France and rated the aircraft as “very good,” noting its 98% effectiveness in destroying Russian drones and missiles.

According to another pilot, crews regularly change airfields due to attempts by Russian troops to destroy equipment.

One of the latest combat sorties took place during a missile and drone attack. The video also showed the launch of a Magic 2 missile with a range of up to 15 kilometers.

As a reminder, France announced its intention to transfer Mirage 200s to Ukraine in June 2024. In February, it became known that the first aircraft had already arrived, and as of today, Paris has transferred at least three of the six promised units.

The Mirage 2000-5 is a fourth-generation multi-role fighter equipped with an upgraded radar, new computing systems, and laser-based inertial navigation. It has a maximum range of 3,335 km, a speed of up to 2,340 km/h, and a payload of up to 6,300 kg, including SCALP missiles (the French version of Storm Shadow).
