He stressed that the actions of the French military were carried out in strict compliance with international maritime law.
“It is unacceptable that vessels circumvent international sanctions, violate maritime law and finance the war that Russia has been waging against Ukraine for more than four years,” Macron wrote.
Macron also noted that such vessels, which do not comply with the most basic rules of maritime navigation, pose a threat to the environment and the safety of all maritime traffic participants.
