The Russian side is handing over the bodies of deceased defenders to Ukraine in an extremely mutilated state, and during the latest repatriations, the remains of Russian soldiers were handed over along with those of Ukrainian soldiers.

This was reported by Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko.

According to him, after each transfer of bodies to Ukraine, a comprehensive procedure begins: autopsy, examination by investigators, DNA testing, and establishment of every detail. At the same time, Russia deliberately complicates this process.

‘The bodies are returned in an extremely mutilated state, with body parts in different bags. There are cases when the remains of one person are returned in different stages of repatriation,’ the minister noted.

In addition, the latest transfers included the bodies of Russian soldiers mixed with Ukrainian ones.

‘This could have been done deliberately by the Russians to increase the number of bodies transferred and overload our experts with work, complementing all this with cynical information pressure. Or it may be their usual careless attitude towards their own people. In any case, we are also identifying these bodies,’ the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs emphasised.

The minister added that Ukrainian specialists are working to the best of their ability. However, with each large repatriation, the identification process becomes more difficult. According to the minister, this may be part of a deliberate tactic by the Russian Federation.
