On September 28, Russian forces struck the building of the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences in Kyiv, where a fire is raging. One woman has been reported killed and several people injured.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy said this on Telegram.
The Kyiv City Military Administration said that one woman was killed in the strike. Three people are known to have been injured.
According to the president, the Russian strike hit the building of the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences. A rescue operation is under way there: emergency crews are fighting the fire and searching for people who may have been inside.
Also today in Kyiv, a pharmaceutical company and gas stations were attacked, while a business center was hit in Dnipro. In other cities and regions, civilian facilities, businesses and communications infrastructure were also struck.
“Russia will definitely face a response for this,” the president said.
He also called on Ukraine’s partners to take into account the consequences of Russian attacks and said Russia must be held accountable and “feel real consequences.”
