Today, the Ukrainian national team will play a decisive match in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Iceland in Warsaw. To continue fighting for a place in the playoffs, the team needs nothing less than a victory.

This was reported by the Ukrainian Football Association.

The final match of the group stage of the qualifiers will take place at the Legia Stadium in Warsaw, starting at 7:00 p.m. Kyiv time. The broadcast will be provided by the MEGOGO media service in the “Football” section, on the “MEGOGO Football First” channel, and on a separate pop-up channel in the “Television” section.

The match will be the first game for the blue and yellows at the Legia Arena, although the team has extensive experience playing in Polish stadiums. Forecasters predict cloudy, almost windless weather in Warsaw with a temperature of around +8 degrees and possible rain.

The Ukraine-Iceland match will be the seventh meeting between the teams in history, and the Ukrainians have a positive balance in previous matches. Today, the Ukrainian team will play in yellow uniforms, while the Icelanders will play in blue.

In the FIFA rankings as of October 17, Ukraine’s opponent is in 74th place, while the Ukrainian team is in 27th place. To advance to the playoffs, Ukraine must win — otherwise, Iceland will get the ticket.

The national team’s lineup for the match has also been published:
