The International Legion of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine has formed a combat unit Nomad, consisting of representatives of the indigenous peoples of Russia. This was reported by the DIU’s press service.
‘Nomad was founded in December 2023 as an initiative to unite the indigenous peoples of the Russian Federation in the struggle for rights and freedoms. On 3 March, the unit officially joined the International Legion, which operates under the control of the DIU.
‘There are already Kalmyks, Tatars, Buryats, Bashkirs, Yakuts in Nomad, but the door is open to all national minorities in today’s Russia. For all those who want to put an end to Putin’s prison of peoples,’ the organisation says.
