President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced a regular meeting of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief’s Staff, the main topics of which were drone operations, defence procurement and sanctions pressure on Russia.
The meeting discussed the implementation of contracts for the supply of equipment for the Defence Forces, as well as plans for the current year. The President emphasised the need to make 2025 a record year for the number of drones of all types and to significantly increase the production of Ukrainian missiles, artillery and other equipment.
‘I have instructed to increase the number of orders for drones. This is already being implemented. Our arsenals are one of the guarantees of independence, as well as the accuracy of our soldiers,’ Zelenskyy said, thanking the units that strike at Russia’s military infrastructure.
The President emphasised the importance of the sanctions imposed this week by Ukraine’s partners:
During his visit to Italy, Zelenskyy discussed with local partners the strengthening of sanctions pressure and blocking schemes to circumvent restrictions.
Defence Minister Rustem Umerov reported on successful negotiations within the Ramstein platform, emphasising the effective work of Ukraine’s defence coalitions with international partners.
The President also informed about the successful operation of the Special Operations Forces and paratroopers who captured two North Korean soldiers in Kursk region. ‘Russia is trying to hide the participation of military personnel from other countries in the war against Ukraine, but its actions have been exposed,’ Zelenskyy stressed.
Both prisoners are currently in Kyiv, receiving medical care and giving evidence to the Security Service of Ukraine.
