Ukraine expects the trilateral format involving Ukraine, the United States and Russia to resume on November 10-11. The meeting is initially expected to take place at the level of negotiating teams, but Kyiv hopes it will pave the way for talks at the level of the leaders.
This was reported by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during a joint media appearance with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz.
“We expect the trilateral format of meetings between Ukraine, the United States and Russia to resume in the near future. On November 10-11,” Zelenskyy said.
According to him, the talks will take place at the team level. The president expects that this format, together with other diplomatic steps, will make it possible to move toward a trilateral meeting at the level of the leaders.
Zelenskyy stressed that talks between the leaders could help resolve the key issues necessary to achieve lasting peace and guaranteed security.
The president also said that Ukraine is coordinating positions with Germany and other European countries on the main points of the negotiations.
According to him, Europe remains part of the peace process, while Kyiv is seeking to form a common European approach to security challenges and to how the war should end.
“Peace must be dignified, and then peace can become lasting. This is one of our key principles,” Zelenskyy said.
Separately, the president said that talks involving representatives of the United States, Europe, NATO and Ukraine will take place in Brussels on November 4. At the team level, the parties will discuss a reconstruction package for Ukraine and security guarantees.
Earlier, “Glavnoe in Ukraine” reported that the United States had announced talks between Ukraine and Russia in Abu Dhabi on November 10-11 with American mediation. They are expected to take place at the working level, with post-war security guarantees, de-escalation, humanitarian issues and further steps toward a peace settlement among the key topics.
On the same day, the Kremlin confirmed Russia’s participation in the November 10-11 talks. Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said the Russian delegation would travel to Abu Dhabi to take part in the trilateral format with Ukraine and the United States.
