Today, October 13, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky held a meeting of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief. The main topics were the protection and restoration of energy infrastructure after Russian shelling, as well as expanding the capabilities of the army aviation to protect against Russian drones.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced this on Telegram.
“The number one issue is the protection and restoration of energy infrastructure. There were reports on repair work in the regions after Russian strikes. I am grateful to everyone who is involved and working virtually around the clock — often these are truly heroic efforts by our energy workers, repair crews, and the State Emergency Service of Ukraine,” Zelenskyy wrote.
According to the president, the most difficult situation is currently observed in frontline communities and near the border with Russia, where Russian strike UAVs and missiles have the shortest flight time, and alarms and shelling continue almost constantly.
“But despite all the threats, our communities are working to restore power supply and provide emergency support to people,” the statement said.
Today, they also determined how to expand the capabilities of the army aviation to protect against drones. Additional helicopter groups will be formed. Work is continuing with partners to provide Ukraine with more of the necessary types of aircraft. There were reports on cooperation with companies that manufacture interceptor drones—maximum production volumes are needed.
“There were also reports on Kyiv and the region, on the Dnipro region. Constant attention is being paid to Kharkiv and the region, Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv and Kherson, Poltava and the region. We have clear data on each other region of our country – the necessary equipment, the necessary work, the necessary funding. Appropriate instructions have been given in each area,” the president concluded.
