President Volodymyr Zelensky said following his meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan that Ankara remains an important diplomatic partner and is ready to host talks aimed at ending the war.
Zelensky noted that the two leaders discussed in detail the real paths toward a reliable and just end to Russia’s aggression. He stressed that since the beginning of the year, Ukraine has supported all decisive steps and leadership shown by U.S. President Donald Trump, as well as every strong and fair proposal aimed at stopping the war.
According to Zelensky, only President Trump and the United States have enough power to bring the war to an end. Erdoğan offered several potential formats for future discussions, which Zelensky said he supported, adding that Turkey’s readiness to provide a platform is important for Ukraine.
Zelensky emphasized that Ukraine is prepared to work within any meaningful formats that can deliver results. At the same time, he highlighted that ending the bloodshed and achieving lasting peace requires coordinated efforts with all partners — and, crucially, the continued strong and effective leadership of the United States to bring about durable peace and security for the people.
