Zelensky: Russia received 3.5 million artillery shells from DPRK in 2024, expects even more next year

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that in 2024, North Korea handed over 3.5 million artillery shells to Russia for the war against Ukraine. In 2025, the Russian Federation plans to receive several million more such munitions.

He said this in an interview with the Japanese news agency Kyodo News.

“During this year, 3.5 million artillery shells from the DPRK have already been transferred to Russia for the war against Ukraine. We also know that in 2025 they expect to receive several million more. This information is confirmed by documents,” Zelenskyy emphasized.

According to the President, there are about 12 thousand North Korean military personnel involved in hostilities in Russia.

“We have data on the dead and wounded among DPRK soldiers. However, we do not have accurate statistics yet – I do not want to voice unverified figures, we need evidence,” Zelensky said.

The President also confirmed the transfer of North Korean weapons to Russia, including multiple launch rocket systems, missiles, and millions of artillery shells.
