President Volodymyr Zelensky said on social media that Ukraine is ramping up the production and supply of drones to strengthen both the frontline and the defence of cities against Russian attacks.

In his update, Zelensky said Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi briefed him on the impact of Ukraine’s long-range strikes, noting that Russian logistics must suffer more and more in response to Moscow’s attempts to prolong the war.

Syrskyi, together with the Minister of Defence and the Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council, is finalising requests for additional funding for drone production. This includes strike drones for frontline units and systems to protect Ukrainian cities and communities from Russian drone attacks.

Zelensky announced that new contracts will be signed next week to expand supplies of these drones to Ukrainian forces.

He also confirmed that Ukrainian units are continuing to eliminate Russian sabotage groups near Pokrovsk and other key directions, despite Russia’s attempts to seize new positions with small assault teams. He praised the 25th Separate Airborne Sicheslav Brigade for its actions near Pokrovsk, as well as the 225th Separate Assault Regiment and the 80th Separate Air Assault Galicia Brigade for their role in defending the Sumy border region.
