Zelensky appoints new representative of Ukraine to the UN

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has approved new diplomatic appointments, which were previously reported by the media, announcing large-scale personnel reshuffles.

In his evening address, Zelensky said: “Today, our diplomatic team and I have agreed on more than 30 appointments of new ambassadors of Ukraine.”

Among the key decisions:

  • Nariman Dzhelal, who recently returned from Russian captivity, will become Ukraine’s ambassador to Turkey.
  • Alyona Getmanchuk, founder and director of the New Europe Center, will represent Ukraine in NATO.
  • Andriy Melnyk, former Ukrainian ambassador to Germany, will be appointed Ukraine’s representative to the UN.

The President noted that decrees on other appointments will be published shortly.
