On the morning of October 10, Russian forces dropped five guided aerial bombs on residential buildings in Zaporizhzhia, while a total of 13 Ukrainian regions came under attack overnight. According to the latest figures, 12 people were killed in Zaporizhzhia, including three children, and another 14 were injured.

This was reported by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

“Today, Russia thanked the US for lifting sanctions on diesel exports by dropping five guided aerial bombs on residential buildings in Zaporizhzhia,” the president said.

According to Zelenskyy, two of the 14 injured are in critical condition. Doctors are fighting to save their lives.

The fate of another 12 people who may have been at the strike sites is also being investigated.

Emergency services are working at the sites of destruction, and search and rescue operations are ongoing.

Zelenskyy also reported that 13 Ukrainian regions came under Russian attack overnight. Residential buildings, infrastructure facilities, and railway infrastructure were damaged.

Zelenskyy Vows Response to Russian Strikes

The president linked the latest large-scale attack to the US decision to ease sanctions on Russian diesel exports.

In his view, Moscow interprets such steps as permission to continue the war and launch strikes against Ukrainian cities.

“Last night was yet another confirmation that Russia sees any easing of pressure as a signal that it can supposedly continue waging war, that it can supposedly keep dropping bombs on cities,” Zelenskyy stressed.

The Ukrainian president said that Russia must feel the consequences of its aggression if the war is to end.

“Russia must understand that the war has to stop, and for that to happen, it must feel its losses. Right now, our long-range strike capabilities are ensuring that. And we will respond to Russian attacks,” the president emphasized.
