President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said in a message posted on social media that emergency services are working at the sites of Russian strikes in Kyiv and the surrounding region. According to him, Russia launched around 36 missiles and nearly 600 drones aimed at disrupting ordinary life. The main targets were energy facilities and civilian infrastructure, with extensive damage and fires reported in residential buildings.

Authorities say dozens of people have been injured and three killed. Zelenskiy offered his condolences to the families of the victims.

He said Ukraine must work every day to ensure it has enough missiles for air defence systems and everything needed to protect the country and increase pressure on Russia. Zelenskiy urged Europe to take decisions regarding frozen Russian assets if Moscow refuses to stop its drone and missile attacks. He added that Ukraine must continue talks with all partners on steps needed to end the war and thanked those who support the country.
