President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskiy, in his traditional evening address, reported on the aftermath of missile strikes launched today by Russian forces against Kyiv, Zaporizhzhia, and Kharkiv regions.
According to the President, rescue teams have completed clearing debris in Kyiv, where civilian infrastructure was affected. In Zaporizhzhia, efforts continue to locate a person trapped under the rubble, while rescue operations are ongoing in the Kharkiv region following another attack.
“Unfortunately, lives were lost due to these missiles. There are fatalities in both Kyiv and Zaporizhzhia. My condolences to all the families and loved ones,” Zelenskiy said.
He expressed gratitude to medical workers, rescuers, utility services, and police officers working at the scenes of these tragedies and emphasized the importance of enhancing air defense systems.
The President noted that the enemy used ballistic missiles, highlighting Ukraine’s efforts to acquire advanced air defense systems and enhance the long-range capabilities of the Armed Forces.
“Every night, we see how the war returns home — rightfully so, thanks to our drones and missiles targeting Russian military facilities,” Zelenskiy stated, thanking Ukrainian soldiers for ensuring this long-range capability.
Zelenskiy also praised the effective work of law enforcement agencies in countering traitors and schemes that harm Ukraine. He assured that anyone acting against the state would face justice.
Additionally, the President announced upcoming sanctions decisions by the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC). “There will be a decree tomorrow,” he added.
Ukraine continues its active fight for security both on the frontlines and within the country.
