On April 16, Kyiv police officers who arrived at the site of a rocket strike in the Obolon district came under renewed fire. Emergency services were already on the scene at that time.
This was reported by the National Police of Ukraine.
Three special forces officers from Police Regiment No. 1 arrived at the site of the shelling to assist the victims alongside medical personnel. A few minutes later, the Russians launched a second ballistic strike.
As a result of the shelling, one of the officers sustained a shrapnel wound to his leg. His colleagues applied a tourniquet, and then, due to damage to their patrol car, asked a passerby to use his own vehicle to transport the wounded officer to the hospital.
The victim is currently in the hospital following a complex surgery. Two other special forces officers were hospitalized with concussions.
