        Weather forecast for July 13: Heat, showers with thunderstorms, and river-level warnings

        Ukraine’s Hydrometeorological Center has released the weather forecast for Saturday, July 13.

        Overnight in the northeast, and during the day in the eastern regions, expect partly cloudy skies with brief showers and thunderstorms. In some areas, hail and wind gusts of 15–20 m/s are possible. Elsewhere across the country, variable cloudiness and no precipitation are expected.

        Winds will be mostly variable at 3–8 m/s, but northwesterly at 7–12 m/s in the Left Bank regions.

        Nighttime temperatures will range from 14–19 °C, rising to 24–29 °C during the day. In the southeast, expect hot nights of 20–25 °C and daytime highs of 29–34 °C, with extreme heat of 35–38 °C in Donetsk and Luhansk regions. The west will be cooler, with 9–14 °C at night and 21–26 °C during the day.

        For Kyiv and Kyiv region, variable cloudiness without precipitation is forecast. Winds will be variable at 3–8 m/s. Temperatures in the region will range from 14–19 °C at night to 24–29 °C during the day; in Kyiv itself, expect 16–18 °C overnight and 27–29 °C during the day.

        Warning of hazardous hydrological phenomena
        On the evening of July 13, the Dniester River at the Zaliщики hydrological post (Ternopil region) is expected to see a flood wave cresting at 290–340 cm above the post’s zero level. The forecast water discharge is 200–300 m³/s. No negative consequences are expected (green level).

        Between July 13–14, rivers Styr (Shchurovychi post) and Radostavka (Triytsia post) in Lviv region could see further water-level rises of 0.1–0.3 m above the morning levels of July 12, possibly causing minor overbank flooding. Rivers in the Western Bug basin (Lviv and Volyn regions) are also expected to rise by 0.2–0.7 m, with the Western Bug near Lytovezh (Volyn) rising by 0.7–1.3 m. Localized overbank flooding could occur, with some agricultural lands and facilities at risk of partial inundation. These areas are under a Level I (yellow) warning.

        Warning of hazardous meteorological phenomena
        On July 13, overnight in the northeast and during the day in the east, thunderstorms are forecast, with local hail and wind gusts of 15–20 m/s. A Level I (yellow) warning has been issued. These weather conditions could complicate the operation of energy, construction, and municipal services, as well as disrupt transportation.
