The United States is preparing a package of assistance to Ukraine that will be used to produce Ukrainian drones.
This was announced by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in his evening address.
‘A separate package is being prepared – funding for the production of Ukrainian drones, $800 million. Ukraine is grateful for this support. We need to ensure that despite any political threats in the world, Ukraine can consistently defend its sovereignty and independence,’ Zelensky said.
On 21 October, in the morning, US Secretary of Defence Lloyd Austin arrived in Kyiv for an unannounced visit.
During a meeting with President Zelenskyy, US Secretary of Defence Lloyd Austin announced a new $400 million military aid package for Ukraine. It includes additional ammunition, armoured vehicles and anti-tank weapons.
