Ukrainian tennis player Oleksandra Oliynikova was unable to play the 1/8 finals match of the WTA 500 tournament in Strasbourg, France due to injury. The competition was her last tournament before the start of Roland Garros-2026.

This is reported by Suspilne Sport.

Oliynikova successfully qualified to enter the main draw of the tournament. The Ukrainian defeated Ksenia Efremova and the representative of Kazakhstan Yulia Putintseva, for the first time in her career entering the main draw of the WTA tournament through selection.

In the first round, Oliynikova beat the tennis player from the Philippines Alexandra Eala, having recovered after losing the first set.

During this match, the Ukrainian injured her right thigh when she reached for the ball in one of the rallies.

In her second-round match against Czech Marie Bouzkova, Oliynikova called a physiotherapist onto the court after losing a game on her own serve, and later refused to continue playing with the score 1:3.

The next tournament for the Ukrainian tennis player will be Roland Garros 2026, the main draw matches of which will be held from May 24 to June 7.
