        Ukrainian defence forces strike at Russian Savasleyka airfield

        On the night of 9 June, the Ukrainian Defence Forces struck at the Russian military airfield Savasleyka in the Nizhny Novgorod region. According to preliminary reports, at least two enemy aircraft were downed.

        This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

        ‘The Russian aggressor uses it to strike at the territory of Ukraine. In particular, MiG-31K fighters, which are carriers of Kinzhal aeroballistic missiles, regularly take off from this military facility,’ the statement said.

        The General Staff clarified that the preliminary reports indicate that MiG-31 and, possibly, Su-30 or Su-34 aircraft were hit. The final results of the attack are currently being investigated.
